There are a whole host of opportunities to get involved in Performing Arts at Holy Cross and you do not have to be studying one of the related A Level subjects.
Activities include musical productions, choirs, orchestra, student bands and performance evenings in dance and drama.
If you like dancing there are extracurricular dance classes and for budding thespians, you can work towards LAMDA awards in drama. These are enrichment activities which have proven very popular over the last five years and are timetabled as additional to your A Level profile.
If you have a band or are interested in forming one, there are many new exciting recording and performing possibilities available. We have superb Music Technology facilities which include excellent recording facilities using industry standards.
If you play a musical instrument or want to improve your singing there are additional lessons available at Holy Cross. If you take Music at A Level, these are free of charge.
Concerts are given at regular intervals and there is an annual College production. In March 2023, we will be staging the musical 'Sweet Charity' which involves upwards of 100 performers, musicians and stage crew. In addition to this we have Live Music Nights where student bands are given the opportunity to perform and also, a Summer Music Concert. Throughout the year, there are also lots of additonal opportunities to perform including: Carol Singing in St. Anne's Square, sectional ensembles, performing in the Dance Explosion at the Lowry Theatre, Salford and the annual festive Christmas Evening.
If you are interested in music, dance or drama please tell us on your application form.
