Initial Advice Appointments

When we receive an enquiry from a potential student regarding one of our degree courses, we invite you into the University Centre for an informal discussion - this is called 'Initial Advice' and it'll be hosted by one of our Support Tutors.

At this 'Initial Advice' discussion, you will receive all the information you need regarding studying at Holy Cross University Centre, how to apply, details about fees and funding available to you etc.

Support Tutors will also review your existing qualifications, discuss entry requirements for your chosen course and advise on a suitable alternative pathway if relevant.

Full Time Courses

For full time courses, applications are made online through UCAS (University and College Admissions Service) which forwards your application to the university associated with your course. Support Tutors will advise you on how to make an application via UCAS.

Part Time Courses

Your Support Tutor will advise on the best way to apply.

Entry Requirements

We understand that many of our applicants have non-traditional qualifications and that they may have other skills and experience that are transferable to degree level study. We actively seek and welcome applicants with a variety of qualifications and/or experience.

At Holy Cross University Centre, we work with more than one university partner and offer different types of degree programmes. This means that the entry requirements are not the same for all courses.

For example, we have:

  • Courses where entry is assessed mainly on academic entry qualifications
  • Courses where an alternative entrance assessment is an option
  • Other courses which are work-based, and have an entrance requirement to be in a specific type of placement setting

For these reasons, it's so important that all potential applicants come to Holy Cross University Centre to have an initial advisory meeting - 'Initial Advice' - with one of our experienced Support Tutors, so we can spend time discussing specific circumstances and course entry requirements in more detail.
