Students can obtain financial help with paying their tuition fees. Studying may prove to be a more affordable option than you think. Student loans are available to cover the cost of tuition fees for up to four years of study.
Tuition Fee loans are provided by Student Finance England (SFE) and applications for loans are made by students direct to SFE. Tuition fee loans are paid directly to the university when students have officially enroled on their chosen course.
If you get a loan to cover your tuition fees you do not have to pay anything until you start earning above the threshold. You can obtain further advice and indicative examples by clicking the Student Finance link below.
New full time and part time students can apply for means-tested maintenance loans if they are living at home or studying away from home. Full time students who have young children, or who have adults who depend on them, can apply for grants to help pay towards extra costs.
Full time and part time students with disabilities and additional learning needs can apply for funding of resources and support via disabled students allowances (DSA).
Information on eligibility for funding and the funding application process can be found by following the link below to the Government’s student finance website.
