In keeping with the mission and ethos of the college, pastoral care is a major priority at Holy Cross and we aim to provide a safe and secure environment for you to continue your studies. We will support you throughout your time with us and to help you make the right decisions when you leave.
The College offers a confidential counselling service available to discuss more personal or health matters as well as Learning Support and Careers advice and guidance.
The College provides a link to many different outside agencies that can offer help and guidance to you both on career and personal matters.
You will have a Progress Tutor, who will keep a careful watch on your general progress, but who will also be someone you can turn to if you have difficulties. You will meet with your Progress Tutor on a weekly basis in your timetabled tutorial session.
Your academic progress is discussed regularly with subject tutors and your Progress Tutor, and the individual action plans which arise from these discussions give you and your parents valuable information on what you need to do to achieve your full potential.
Attendance and punctuality will be a key factor that will determine your success at college, class attendance is recorded electronically and you will be able to view your own attendance and progress.
We aim to build on your Progress File by producing a new personal statement at the end of the first year to help you with applications for university or employment. You will be provided with a planner to help monitor progress, record achievement and manage your time.
