Edge Hill University Taster Event

We are excited to be able to invite you to Holy Cross College Bury campus, to take part in our subject taster event.

Holy Cross began its association with Edge Hill in 2008. Since then the partnership has grown from strength to strength. We share a strong commitment to widening participation and have a common interest in a wide range of community and international collaborations. The University is thriving and growing and is recognised regionally and nationally as a vibrant learning community and a centre of excellence in teaching and learning.

Event Timetable:

4:00pm - 4:30pm: Welcome and Refreshments

4:30pm - 5:15pm: Mental Health

• Explore different ideas about children and young people’s mental health
• Look at different risk factors and what steps you can take to protect a child’s mental health and wellbeing

5:15pm - 5:30pm: Interval 

5:30pm - 6:15pm: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

• Outline the signs of specific learning disabilities and/or special educational needs
• Explore how different needs affect learning, interactions and relationships
