Marking Women's History Month 2025 as a College

March is Women's History Month, which NAHT recognises as a positive opportunity to support schools in their ongoing work to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in the UK and around the world throughout history, both during the month and throughout the rest of the year.

Here's how we marked the month at Holy Cross:

International Women's Day

Staff and students from across the College stepped forward in solidarity for International Women's Day (IWD) 2025 on March 8 to help #AccelerateAction

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.

Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

So, together, students and staff from across the College came together to strike the #AccelerateAction pose to speed up the rate of progress worldwide:

The Collective

In recognition of International Womens Day and Women's History Month, our Lower Sixth A&D Collective hosted a stall to sell a range of products designed and created by them to celebrate inspirational women in media.

The Collective students poured a lot of creativity and passion into making a series of posters, badges and fanzines, showcasing powerful and influential women including Taylor Swift, Cynthia Erivo and Greta Gerwig.
