Challenging appearance vs reality at the Museum of Illusions, Manchester

Our Theology, Philosophy, and Ethics students recently visited the Museum of Illusions in Manchester, challenging their understanding of appearance vs reality.​

This thought-provoking experience brought key philosophical debates to life, exploring the limits of human perception and the reliability of our senses.

From Descartes' scepticism to Kant’s distinction between phenomena and noumena, students made real-world connections to fundamental philosophical ideas. 

So, can we truly trust what we see?
