Letters Against Isolation

In recognition of International Day of Older Persons our students and staff have been supporting the work of “Letters Against Isolation”. Cards and letters have been written to people who might need a reminder that they matter.

“Letters Against Isolation” is a charity that was set up by two US teenagers in the early part of 2020. They were worried about loneliness amongst older citizens during the lockdowns, particularly those in assisted living and care homes. They decided a way to combat this was to hand write letters. The idea has proved so successful they are now linking volunteer letter writers and care homes around the globe.
