The HPQ consists of students producing an essay, artefact or event. It will be chosen by the student and agreed as appropriate by their teacher. This is an opportunity to develop a personal area of interest. Students will also produce a Production Log that documents the process and, at the end, a presentation to a small group.
The HPQ is a course based on transferable skills which will support their Level 2 studies and can be acquired as preparation for moving to a Level 3 programme of study.

Students are taught the required skills in a small group and will be fully supported in their production of this independent study. Assessment is through coursework: the Production Log, a product (an essay, artefact or event) and a presentation.

Entry requirements: 3 GCSE grades at 3 and above and one GCSE at grade 4.
