The BTEC Level 3 in Applied Law qualification is designed to provide a highly specialist, work-centred qualification in Law. It will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare for employment.
BTECs are a vocational qualification and are viewed by many universities as being equivalent to an A Level.
The course includes mandatory units: Dispute Solving in the Legal System, Understanding Law Making and Aspects of Legal Liability. These give learners an introduction to the court structure – both civil and criminal, the ways in which Law is made and elements of substantive civil and criminal law in the form of negligence and non-fatal offences to the person.

On successful completion of the BTEC qualification students can progress into employment or to continue their study in the area of Law.
Students will study three of the above. All units are internally assessed through coursework. There is no exam requirement.
Level: BTEC Subsidiary Diploma (2 year course equivalent to 1 A Level).
While Law is a profession in itself, knowledge of law is highly useful in the employment market and applicable to many businesses and industries.
