As a former Holy Cross student, I found completing assignments difficult. Passing them took a lot of hard work and determination and I always promised myself that I would not give up.
Throughout my time at college, I became involved in Drama and Theatre Studies, as this helped me develop in my confidence, wellbeing and resilience. As well as this, drama gave me the tools to work hard, to become motivated and to show that I can achieve my very best, as well as teaching me important lessons about being there for others in times of need as I felt proud to pass down my skills and experiences to others who were also struggling in their studies.
This made me realise my dream to become a Primary School teacher. After achieving my MA in Drama, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to use the skills that I had learned and implement them into my teaching.
Throughout my PGCE, it has been the most enjoyable experience of my life, and I have made strong connections with lifelong friends from all ages and experiences. Through the support of the Edge Hill University Primary department staff along with Anne-Marie and the Holy Cross University Centre, I managed to push my way through and were always on hand to give me kind words of encouragement. I have made truly wonderful memories at Holy Cross and the lessons I have learnt will equip me for achieving my goals in future.
