Since leaving sixth form, I had been working in IT. Doing a degree is something that I never saw myself doing as I thought I wasn’t “academic enough” but since first being introduced by the staff at Holy Cross, they encouraged and supported me throughout the whole process. Being able to study at Holy Cross in the evenings helped me to work and study at the same time and helped me to make a career change to become a teacher.
Whilst studying with Holy Cross, I moved house, got married, experienced online learning (due to COVID) and by the end of the course was expecting my first child.
I would certainly not have been able to complete the course if it wasn’t for the help and support that I received from the staff at Holy Cross. The lecturers are friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable which helps to make Holy Cross such an enjoyable place to be. The course I studied helps you to consider aspects of education that you have, most likely, never considered before. Learning about Special Educational Needs is something that really opens your eyes to the world around you and will also really help in the classroom.
Studying at Holy Cross has really opened a lot of doors for me that were not open before, and it has been a great place to make new friends and enjoy getting stuck into learning again.
Thank you to all of the staff at Holy Cross and at Liverpool Hope University for giving me the opportunity to change career and reach goals that I thought would never be achievable.
